Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a system of healing which has been practised in China and other Eastern countries for thousands of years. It is used to treat people with a wide range of ailments its focus being on improving the overall well being of the patient rather than the isolated treatment of specific symptoms.
According to Chinese philosophy, our health is dependent on the clear flow of energy (Qi) through the body. Disease occurs when the flow of Qi is blocked or out of balance. This may happen for various reasons such as physical or emotional trauma, poor diet, stress or climate.
The aim of the acupuncturist is to identify any imbalances and correct them by inserting very fine, disposable needles into specific points on the body along pathways of energy and are usually left in place for between 15 and 20 minutes. It is very safe for children of all ages and effective in the treatment of a range of conditions.
